AM15 FIRE CONTROL SET COMPLETE
The AM15 Fire Control Parts Set operates from an open bolt the same as the Colt Light Machine Gun (LMG) open bolt fire control parts with the exception of the sear and the hammer. For parts to be used in a Colt LMG Open Bolt configuration, refer to Item # 08289.
SEAR DIFFERENCES:
The AM15 sear does not require or include the hammer release on the sear assembly that would be required for the Colt LMG parts set to operate in an open bolt configuration in .225/5.56. The hammer release portion of the sear is not available at this time but could easily be manufactured to complete the sear assembly for use in the Colt LMG.
HAMMER DIFFERENCES:
The AM15 fires from an open bolt with a fixed firing pin and DOES NOT release the hammer for firing pin primer ignition which the Colt LMG does. The hammer for the AM15 is the identical geometry as the Colt LMG hammer EXCEPT that it has a longer "tail" to ensure that the hammer is never released from the sear.
If you want fire control replacement parts for the AM15, then this is the lower receiver parts set that you would want. However, if you want fire control replacement parts for a Colt Light Machine Gun (LMG), you would instead want Item # 08289.
